Annie Kate's 1st Appointment at Dental Works

Last week we had Kate's first dentist appointment. I unintentionally prepared her by watching the Deggards on TLC> They are the family that has 18 children and they all went to the dentist on one epispode. Kate watched with amazement, and frequently asked questions throughout the show. She sat in the chair, had Jill put the bib on her, leaned back, grabbed the arm rest and opened her mouth wide. It was all Jill and I could do to stifle a laugh!
Here she is holding her cell phone. She said that she was "texting" her friends.
We also took x-rays, and Dr. Pitts came in to tell Kate she was cavity free! 10 teeth on top and 10 teeth on the bottom all checked out good, although we will be making appointments to an orthodontist in a few years!

VBS @ FUMC

Kate on her first day of VBS at FUMC. Since she attends School for Little People at FUMC, the children enrolled there for the summer program ages 4 & up were able to attend VBS. KAte and a coup0le of her friends aren't 4 yet, but they will be in the 4K class in the Fall so they got to attend as well. She has loved every minute of it, and I can't wait to go with her today to for the last day.
The theme for the VBS was Camping. They turned the pillars in the atrium into trees by wrapping them in paper, added some Christmas trees, tents, rafts, and boy did it look great!

The turned the Atrium at FUMC into a campers dream! Check out that huge screen! Kate told me that they watched a Veggie Tales movie, and she asked when she could go watch another movie at school. She's spoiled with the big screen now!

Water Fun inthe Summer Time

Iowa Park has this fabulous little splash park for toddlers. For $2.50 per person you can not beat it! The kids have a blast and the moms get nice tan. We'll be enjoying this place a lot more this summer!
Don't ask. All I can say is that she is really excited.
,
Having some splash time fun!

Waiting onher friend Hayden to come down the slide. We went with our neighbors Laura & Hayden. I don't know who was more tired - Laura and I from chasing the three of them and making sure they didn't drown or the kids. My vote says the mamas.

Which way do I go? Which way do I go? Spray or dino slide?

Kate was in heaven at this place. She eventually wanted to go to the big pool to swim with the big kids, but ended her day back at the splash park so she could be a "big kid".

Climbing up the stairs of the dino slide again. This girl wasn't scared!

This is one very tired baby girl with a mohawk that did not require any hair products.

A to Z

I know I post pictures all the time about my girls well because, that is what I like to do. Take pictures of my girls all day and then obsessedly (word??) stare at them wondering why God blessed me so much with these two precious beauties. But, I don't have my memory card available so I decided to post this A to Z about me! Copy and post it to your blog so I can read all about you.....and your mama.

A -Age: 21 + 11 = 32. Creeping on 33 next month. Oh well, at least I'm not going to be 36 like Tim.
B- Bed Size:California King because that is what fits Tim the best.
C- Chore you hate: dusting....and taking out the trash. That is a man's job!
D- Dog's Name: We don't have a dog......well technically we do have a beagle named Jennie but she is living with her surrogate mother Colleen and has been for the past two years. Colleen would like to give her back, but we don't have a fence, and the thought of getting Jennie back is probably what is keeping Tim from building the fence.........
E- Essential starts to your day: Kisses from both my girls and I have become very dependent on caffeine lately. Especially coffe with sugar free hazelnut creamer
F- Favorite Color: Either blush or bashful
G- Gold, Silver, or Platinum: d. all of the above. Thank you very much.
H- Height: 5' 9 3/4" (I'm not lying either)
I- Instruments you play: I used to play the piano, xylophones and the marimba. I played the flute in 8th & 9th grade and fortunately for the Big Red Band from Coyoteland I quit and started playing the xylophones. I wasn't much of a marcher....or a flutist.
J- Job Title: Job pimp (aka recruiter at MyStaf) Thanks our country's current recession I'm not doing much pimpin'. It ain't easy.
K- Kids: There are some baby goats that live up the road. As for my children I have two precious daughters.
L-Living Arrangements: in Tanglehood. Seriously - just installed security system.
M- Moms name: Mary Katherine Walsh Bindel
N- Nicknames: Mommy, Bindel, Steph, Aunt Buffy & Poodie (college days).
O- Overnight stay in the hospital other than birth: lots - back surgery when I was 16 and two c-sections!
P- Pet Peeve: lots of them........but I try not to make my friends and family aware of them or they would think I was crazy. Because maybe I am! :)
Q- Quote from a movie: Guess.... Guy: "It's just that, uh, very few people surprise me." Lady: "Yeah, well, you're lucky. Most of 'em shock the hell outta me."
R- Right or Left handed: Right
S- Siblings: 3 brothers: My older brother is John - we adopted him when I was 7 (he was my cousin), and my two younger brothers Marc & A-damn
T- Time you wake up: Depends if it's a gym day....or it depends what time Kater decides to rise and shine! Always up by 7:30. Always!
U- Underwear: cotton bikini.....start to venture into thongs (but not so fast!)
V- Vegetable you dislike: beets.
W- Ways you run late: Is it ok to blame my constant tardiness on my girls rather my unorganized way of life?
X- X-rays you've had: Back, teeth, hip, foot, ear. What? yes, ear.
Y- Yummy food you make: chicken enchiladas
Z-Zoo Favorite: monkeys

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

The Wichita Theater puts on a new production every couple of months, and Keri (Presley's mom) have started taking the girls to the more child-friendly shows. The girls love watching it on the "big stage" and are usually captivated the entire time. For this show we invited our neighbor Kateri and her mom Delaine. Kateri, Kate, and Presley have a picture with Dorothy (Elizabeth Nowell). Of course Dorothy was their favorite....well second to ToTo. Kate wants to be Dorothy for Halloween now!

After each show the cast signs autographs for the audience on the Wichita Bill (The Wichita Theater's knock off of Broadway's Playbill.) It's always so much fun!

Glinda the Good Witch

I think Kate was a little unsure about taking a picture with The Wicked Witch (played by Shasta Shaw). Kateri didn't mind and both girls got her autograph!

Posing with the Tin Man. He (I think his name is Kevin) has been in a number of shows that we have watched at the Wichita Theater and has always done a fantastic job. Super talented!
Kate showing off her "Good Witch" wand while they took a picture with Scarecrow.

Kate & Kateri with the Cowardly Lion.....Who did an amazing job! He was so sweet to stay to take pictures with the girls. You know he was burning up in that costume!

It was a night to remember! These girls had a LOT of fun, were very well behaved seeing how the show (with intermission) was almost 3 hours long! We are looking forward to watching Snow White & the Seven dwarfs in September!

Just a Swangin'

Tim and I took Kate, Mary Clare & our sweet niece Georgia to the park this past Sunday. It was cool enough for them to be able to enjoy it and not have a heat stroke. I love all of these candid pictures. Hopefully it reflects how much fun we really had! What was really cute is that Kate started calling Georgia "Georgia Foley" until I had to tell her that Georgia's last name was Bindel. She was Georgia Bindel or Georgia FoleyBindel for the rest of our venture to the park. I truly hope that these girls become the best of friends!
