Story Time with Granda

Story time with Granda is always a hit. We went over to my mom's house for a Memorial Day cookout, and after dinner the girls were begging for Granda to read them a book. She has a tendency to get a little animated, so although the Kate, Georgia, and MC were sitting pretty and quiet at the beginning of the story, by the end there were squeals of delight abound.
Newlyweds Tex and Dorothy sat in on story time as well, and they thought either the story or Granda was pretty funny. I'm going with Granda. And YES, I said Newlyweds. They have been married for a couple of months and both of them are over 80. You are never too young for love!

See! Told ya. Squeals of delight.

Up next - pics of the girls from the Meng boys' going away party. Stadium nachos, snocones, snowballs and cupcakes are the makings of a great party for both the young and old - No matter who is at the party!

The life of the retired....

Ok WF folks. Keep your eyes peeled for this guy. I had to drive behind him at 5 mph while he erractically zoomed about in a parking lot. He then rolled the stop sign and took off going the wrong way on Midwestern Parkway. All the while he had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and a cold beverage in a paper bag in his hand. I can't imagine how fun it would be to drive around town in a motorized scooter but I've been told that beer & cigarettes can turn anything into a party....... & those of you who know me well knows that Bindel loves a good party. At least I did at one point in my life.

YeeHaw!

Summer time and the livin's easy.....so I wish!

After many failed attempts, I have finally come to the realization that either blogger or my laptop isn't going to allow me to upload pictures.

We spent kicked off Memorial Day weekend with a trip to Farmers Market Saturday morning, and spent the rest of the weekend at the lake with Ann and Paul. Mary and Nixon drove up from San Antonio. We haven't seen Uncle Nixon since last September, so it was great being able to catch up with them.

The first weekend in June we went to this great place in Saint Jo, Texas with our friends down the street. My friend Lauren joined us as well, and it was a great time. I highly encourage you to make the trip if you haven't been. It is worth it! www.ancientovens.com
Kate had two birthday parties that morning, we enjoyed the rest of our weekend hanging out at home!

This past weekend was FANTASTIC! Friday was our fifth wedding anniversary, along with my mom's birthday. We had a cookout and my uncles David, Michael & Jim, came along with their wives, my cousins, and of course Marc & Carlye and the girls. It was such a great time, and it was great visiting with everyone. Life moves so fast, and there is nothing that warms my heart more than spending time with family. Saturday morning I was blessed to meet my friend Julie's two precious newborn twin boys, and boy did they give me baby fever! :) We went to Lainey's 2nd birthday bash, which was so fun! Our day wasn't over yet as Kate and I went to pick up her friends Kateri and Presley so we could go downtown to watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at the Wichita Theater. Sunday evening Tim and I went to dinner at Paul & Ann's to celebrate Paul's 60th!

As you can see, our weekends are hectic, but they are nothing compared to the weeks I have been having at the office. Turnover, new folks starting at the office, customers needing new employees out the wazoo - it's been very chaotic. I'm too tired to even go workout in the morning, so that has taken a toll on my attitude as well. I am very grateful for my job, and that I am able to help financially support my family, however it has had me on overload. I LOVE my weekends!

hopefully I'll be able to post pics soon.
until then~
